Garry McMichael will Demonstrate
"How to Photograph 2D & 3D Art"

A program on basic digital photography techniques that every
artist needs to know.

Photographing 2D Art

Emphasis will be on "Digital Photography Basics" to help artists take better photographs of their artwork for use on the internet, to enter art fairs and competitions and to make quality prints you can sell. Whether you are a beginner or have a lifetime of experience with digital cameras you will gain a wealth of insights and ideas as Garry shows you the "tricks of the trade" he has mastered through thirty years of commercial photography. This program is for both Point & Shoot and DSLR cameras.

February 23rd Monthly Program
Don Kelley will Demonstrate how He turns Silverware into Beautiful Jewelry

Jewelry by Don Kelly

Don Kelley jewelry begins as vintage silver dinner forks. He“cold forms” this material into simple clean bold lines that typically enfold natural stones. Semi-precious faceted accent stones add balance. His hands, while working with each piece, are guided to reveal designs he believes are already there and are ready to be revealed. Don believes this is what art is all about.

Message from Jim Irwin, GSLAA president,

Perhaps you were not aware! But the GSLAA has been having some very informative and interesting programs. We have another such meeting coming up soon.

If you have not been to a meeting recently you might not be aware of our enhanced meeting format changes. Besides having a very interesting program, members are now given much more time to interact with their fellow members. We have shortened the business meeting as we are handling much of the general business at our board meetings. We have nice snacks and soft drinks for all. Also at each meeting we have two special exhibits called “Show Case Artists “ in addition to the featured program. These artists are juried in their respective medium and will be exhibiting a small exhibit during the evening.  We have a great venue with lots of room and great parking.

So come to the meeting and take advantage of your membership in this dynamic art association, it’s educational and truly a great opportunity to meet and interact with your colleagues.
