Upcoming Monthly Programs

January 25 - Our speaker Jaci Lawson. She plans on talking, showing examples on how she approach sketching subjects to be used for possible paintings. Jaclyn "Jaci" Lawson, began as a graphic artist at an advertising agency upon earning a BFA from Wash U. She started teaching children while rasing a family and continued to maintain an interest in drawing and painting during that time. She has exhibited, received prizes and sold paintings in regional and national shows. She started a "sketch from live model" weekly sessions at the Artist's Guild 7 years ago, and teaches classes and conducts workshops in drawing and pastels. She currently teaches classes at the Missouri Botanical Garden.

Febuary 23 - Our program is Rose Monzyk. Several years ago Rose renewed an interest in millinery. She started to experiment and play with hat making. Instantly she was hooked. She began to study millinery textbooks and took classes where she could locate them. She found millinery to be a grand experiment. Rose continues to study, read and experiment. It allows another venue for creativity with fabric and color.
March 22 - Susie Tenzer is a colored pencil artist.  Her tag line is, “Wow, is that really colored pencil?”  She draws colorful, realistic paintings of simple everyday objects.  Susie is a retired teacher and has been working in colored pencil for a year.  She is a juried member of the Best Of Missouri Hands and the Greater St. Louis Art Association.  She is also a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America.  Her work is sold at Wood Icing Gallery in Chesterfield, MO. and on the internet.  Susie will explain her colored pencil process and how to sell art online.
